Hurricane Sandy Remodel

The church I attend was in the path of Hurricane Sandy in November, 2012.  The four storefronts that we rent were submerged in water, filling the crawl space and leaving about 10 inches of standing water in the main auditorium.  We had to gut the flooring and much of the walls, and remodel everything.  Though I didn’t do all of the work myself, I was very involved in the remodel and reconstruction process.

Furniture Refinishing

I have refinished several pieces of furniture in my own home.  Here is a sample of some of the completed projects!

New Desk

This desk originally belonged to my wife’s grandfather.  He kept it in his garage with flower potting supplies on it.  My Father-In-Law began the restoration process but never finished.  I completely stripped the piece and started over as a Christmas present for my wife in 2011.

Following are some pictures of a mahogany and walnut coffee table.  I completely restored it to perfect condition, highlighting the natural beauty of the wood.

Baby Crib

In 2009 I built a baby crib using my own plans.

The wood is curly maple.  I built the front to swing down on a hinge, rather than having the entire mattress slide up and down.
